THE COMPETITION IS SPILLING OUT OF THE STADIA For the Games, the most fantastic sites and monuments in Paris, and in France in general, are to be transformed into breathtaking settings to host the world’s greatest sporting event. These iconic venues, resulting from an unlikely fusion between sport and France’s rich heritage, will see jawdropping performances from the finest athletes. They offer a unique experience to all involved in the Games – the athletes, the spectators on site, and the millions watching on television around the world. The list includes the Château de Versailles, the Grand Palais, Les Invalides, the Eiffel Tower and Champ-de-Mars, Place de la Concorde, the Pont d’Iéna and the Pont Alexandre III.WORLD-RENOWED COMPETITION VENUESParis 2024 will offer the athletes an exceptional stage on which to compete, at world-famous sports venues which regularly host international events – examples include the Roland-Garros Stadium, Stade de France, Golf National, the Arena Bercy, the Vélodrome National, and many more. THE SPIRIT OF CELEBRATION THROUGH ALL OF FRANCE Events will be taking place all over France: in the major cities, the football will be held in the stadia of Marseille, Bordeaux, Lyon, Saint-Étienne, Nice and Nantes (along with the Parc des Princes in Paris). The handball competitions will be held in Lille; the marina in Marseille will play host to the sailing competitions. The Games’ reach also extends to overseas territories: the best surfers on the planet will take on the legendary waves of Teahupo’o in Tahiti.
