Located in the French Department of Seine-Saint-Denis, on the three municipalities of Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen and L’Île-Saint-Denis, this global village will host athletes and members of over 200 Olympic delegations and close to 180 Paralympic delegations, from all countries, cultures and sports. All delegations will experience the Village in the same way, through unique encounters and shared moments of emotion, with everyone coming together around the universal values of sport: respect, equality and fraternity.The Village offers ideal living conditions to athletes to serve their performances during competitions. In order to design this custom-made living space, Paris 2024 invited the members of the Athletes’ Commission to join the design and development process to optimise the Village’s organisation and ensure maximum comfort, drawing on their past experiences and expectations. The Athletes’ Commission is chaired by Martin Fourcade and composed of 18 athletes, men and women, from diverse Olympic and Paralympic disciplines, including both team and individual sports and those featuring weight categories.During their stay, the athletes will enjoy the many services offered by Paris 2024 and its partners, free of charge. Each of the services provided reflects the French way of life; the Village will be a life-size showcase of French savoir-faire, from gastronomy to technology, infused with innovation and quality. The Village will provide delegations with everything an actual neighbourhood should: restaurants, entertainment, beauty salon, healthcare, family areas, cultural offers, transportation services, a post office and green spaces.Finally, to limit athletes’ travel times and related fatigue, over 80% of Olympic and Paralympic competition venues are located...
